Union Ministry of Education removes picture of Hijabi girl from their old tweet

The latest expression of how communalism is influencing politics from above is the removal of a tweet by the Union Education Ministry. This tweet was about Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) this year, in which a picture of a Muslim girl wearing a hijab was posted. The fifth interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi with students is scheduled to take place on April 1 at the Talkatora Stadium in Delhi.

The education ministry initially tweeted about the incident with a picture of a girl wearing a hijab, but soon realized its “stupidity” and deleted the tweet from its Twitter account, replacing it with a new image.

However, Ravi Nair, a Twitterati, managed to get a picture of the ministry’s tweet before it was deleted. Sharing the picture on his Twitter account, he asked whether it was removed because there was a picture of a Muslim girl wearing a hijab.

“Why did the Union Education Ministry delete this tweet? Is it because they posted a picture of a Muslim girl with a hijab?” He asked.

This year, PM Modi will hold a meeting with students and discuss how to stay calm and comfortable during the impending exam season.

Taking it to Twitter, the Prime Minister said, “The enthusiasm for this year’s Pariksha Pe Charcha has been phenomenal. Lakhs of people have shared their valuable insights and experiences. I thank all the students, parents and teachers who have contributed. Looking forward to the schedule of 1st April.”
