What have you done other than speaking to protect ‘Mother India’?; Congress question to the Centre

The Congress on Wednesday hit out at the Modi-led BJP government over the border situation with China. Apart from talking about protecting ‘Mother India’, what has the Modi government done? When will the status quo be restored on the border? I asked.

Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala, citing media reports, said, “19 rounds of talks with China have failed, every time for the last 3 years.”

In two days of military talks, India and China agreed to maintain peace and tranquillity in the border areas as well as expeditiously resolve remaining issues along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, a joint statement issued on Tuesday said.

“The status quo in April 2020 has not been restored for three years and three months,” Surjewala said.

” Indian forces have not been able to ‘patrol’ 26 out of 65 patrolling points in the Depsang plains near the strategic DBO airstrip! The Chinese continue to block Indian soldiers at the Y junction, a so-called ‘bottleneck’ inside our territory. Chinese have blocked access to patrolling points 10, 11, 11A, 12, 13,” Congress leader Surjewala said on Twitter.

Questioning the Modi government, Surjewala said, “When will the Indian territory, which is being brazenly occupied by the Chinese, be vacated?” When will the Chinese army be pushed back? Has the Modi government compromised to give up nearly 1,000 square kilometres of Indian territory occupied by the Chinese?” he asked.

”If no one is entering Indian territory, why are we talking with the Chinese? questioned the congress.

“Apart from talking about protecting ‘Mother India’, what has the Modi government done?” The Congress questioned the central government about the border situation with China.
