A 23-year-old woman’s stunts led to her death on Monday after she mistakenly pulled the accelerator while the four-wheeler was in reverse gear. The woman was trying her hand in the car for the first time.

The vehicle plunged into the valley in Maharashtra as it was put on reverse gear, a police official said. The incident took place on Monday afternoon in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, when the woman’s friend was recording a reel of her, as she was behind the wheels. The deceased was identified as Shweta Survase. Shweta did not know how to drive. Her friend Shivraj Mule was recording her driving for the first time a white sedan.

“Survase tried her hand at driving while her friend Shivraj Mule was shooting a video. She accidentally pressed the accelerator while the car was in reverse gear. The vehicle slid back, broke a crash barrier and plunged into the valley,” a police official told news agency PTI. After the car fell into the valley, it took at least one hour for the rescuers to take the deceased to hospital. Shweta was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital, the police official added.
