Concerns due to express delivery

The emergence of super-fast delivery of groceries in Bengaluru is causing problems for the neighborhood. Several people have complained about the delivery agents assembling and waiting near the stores and warehouses.

Dark stores, which refers to a distribution centre that serves online shoppers by app-based delivery services have expanded across the city.

A complaint has been registered against a Zepto dark store on CMH Road by iChange Indiranagar, a Resident Welfare Association (RWA).

Meanwhile, a dark store by Swiggy was shut down in Koramangala, last month after receiving many complaints from women in the locality.

According to the daily, delivery agents started relieving themselves on the footpath, and they were constantly sitting across random houses and chatting, using vile language. Sixty to 70 delivery agents were constantly around, and a fight broke out among them last week.

However, the cops have denied it.
“We have not received any such complaints from residents. If we do, we will look into the matter and check the legality of the situation about whether such dark stores or small warehouses can be situated in residential blocks. If there is anything illegal, we will raise the matter with the concerned authorities,” a Senior Police Official from the South East division of Bengaluru told the newspaper.

After taking the complaints into consideration from residents, Dunzo has planned to assign appropriate waiting areas for delivery agents.
