Koikkode: No new case of Nipah virus has been confirmed in Kerala since September 16, the Kerala government said.
It said that the results of the samples of 61 people who were on the ‘high risk’ contact list were negative.
With this, the second wave of the Nipah virus in Koikkod district is far away.
Health Minister Veena George said that a clear picture will be available after the genome sequencing test report.
He said that the situation is currently under control and precautionary measures have been taken.
The last Nipah case was confirmed in Kerala on September 15.
A central medical team is visiting the spot and conducting a study.
