1,488 Covid-19 positive cases in Karnataka; 5 clusters in Bengaluru

Karnataka has reported 1,488 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, with 925 of them accounted for by Bengaluru alone. At least five cluster outbreaks have been documented from Bengaluru, a few of them in the Yelahanka zone.

BBMP commissioner, N Manjunatha Prasad, claimed irresponsible behavior on the part of folks and those with travel history are introducing to the rise in instances. “Nearly 12% of fresh cases in the city are those people with journey history or those who attended capabilities or frequented malls,” Prasad explained. A 69-year-old gram panchayat member from Katakat village in Belagavi district died a day after his vaccination.
