An inhuman and brutal incident in which a woman was stripped naked tied to a pole and assaulted took place in Belgaum district. Police have arrested 7 accused in the case.
The incident took place in Vantamuri village of the district. The victim’s son was in love with a young woman from the same village. As the family members of the young woman did not approve of their love, both of them left the town. It is known that the family members of the young woman got angry and assaulted the young man’s mother naked.
Young Priyanka’s family members arranged marriage with another young man and planned to do ‘Yadi Pele Shaadi’. Thus, Priyanka left the town on Sunday midnight with the young man Dundappa whom she was in love with. It is reported that her family members came to know about this, broke into the young man’s house, dragged the young man’s mother, Kamalavva, who was sleeping in the house, and assaulted him.
A case has been registered at Kakati Police Station in Belgaum regarding the incident. Nine people have been named as accused in the case. Of them, seven have been arrested by the police.
“The search is on for the two absconding accused,” Belgaum City Police Commissioner Siddaramappa said.
