Tomorrow, 24 Hours Chakka Band In Assam

The Assam Motor Shramik Joint Federation (AAMSJF) has called for a 24-hour statewide chakka band on August 31, 2021 in response to a spine-chilling attack on five truck drivers in Doyangmukh, Dima Hasao.

The chakka band will begin from August 31 to September 1, 2021 at 5 am.

AAMSJF has urged the Assam government to provide Rs. 15,00,000 as an ex-gratia grant to each victim’s family, according to media reports.

The federation also demanded that the government provide security to drivers.

AAMSJF President Krishna Bora condemned the militant group Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) for the heinous attack.

“By carrying out such a heinous crime, one cannot achieve their aims,” said Krishna Bora.

“Killing innocent people will never help the militant group assimilate into society,” he added.
