Patna: At the time when the discussion over population control is getting intense after Uttar Pradesh government announcing to bring a low to control the population, Former Chief Minister of Bihar and Founder of Hindustani Awam Morcha Jeetan Ram Manjhi has opposed the UP’s proposed law and supported the statement of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
It may be noted that Kumar has opposed the move of UP and said that instead of bringing a law to control population, awareness should be done among people mainly women to limit the number of children they deliver.
Appreciating the statement of Kumar, Manjhi has said that he welcomes Kumar’s statement of Kumar on controlling population. Asserting that educating women proves more effective in controlling the population than bringing the law.
He claimed that because of education and awareness, Bihar’s fertility rate is less than the national average.
He added that India should adopt the Nitish model rather than the UP model.
