Prominent BJP leader RK Sinha and RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s meeting creates a stir

BJP leader RK Sinha and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav met at Rabri Devi’s residence on Friday night. Lalu’s younger son, leader of opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly and MLA from Raghopur, Tejaswi Yadav, along with RJD’s National Vice President Shivanand Tiwari were also present during the meeting.
The meeting happening just one day ahead of the polling of two assembly seats has ignited political sparks with Congress echoing its accusations of “a possible tie-up between BJP and RJD.

Sinha maintained that the meeting was a courtesy call on his part to inquire about the well-being of Lalu Prasad whom Sinha claimed in his statement, was suffering from aliments similar to what he himself had in the past. Sinha further explained that he knew Lalu since their university days and Lalu inquired from him about places where he could get treatment.

Sinha stated that he spent two hours at Rabri Devi’s residence with Lalu Prasad Yadav however, the two leaders did not discuss any politics.

Lalu Prasad returned to Patna this week after being convicted and jailed in Jharkhand for over three and a half years in the fodder scam cases.

Asserting its broken ties with RJD, the Congress, which has announced to break the alliance after a tussle with the RJD over the by-elections on two seats, smelt foul play.

Congress Spokesperson Anand Madab questioned the purpose of the meeting and said that “this proves our earlier allegation that the two parties (BJP and RJD) have entered into a secret agreement.

What were these leaders negotiating and discussing?” Anand took to social media and posted a picture of the meeting admonishing voters of the two assembly seats to “understand the real game” said Anand.

Repudiating Congress’s allegations, RJD Spokesperson Chitaranjan Gagan said, “The two have known each other for a long time. There is a personal relationship between the two. RJD does not need any secular certificate from anyone. Personal relationships should not be mixed with politics.”
