Haryana: 10-year-old girl gang raped by 7 boys, including six of them 10-12 years old, in Rewari school building

On May 24, she disappeared shortly afterwards into a school building while playing with children in a Rewari ground. There, seven boys raped a 10-year-old girl. The crime came to light shortly after a video of the incident, allegedly shot and shared with one or more boys, circled the area and reached a neighbor, who informed the girl’s family.

The FIR was registered on Wednesday after the girl’s father lodged a complaint. DSP (Headquarters) Rewari, Hansraj said that the case was registered at the women’s police station under Section 376D (gang rape), 354C (voyeurism) and IPC 506 (criminal intimidation) Sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Information Technology Act and Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes Act against the seven accused. One of the alleged perpetrators is an adult (18). Others are not teenagers, aged between 10 and 12. police said, the juveniles were brought to the Juvenile Justice Board and sent to a correctional facility, while the 18-year-old was produced in court and sent to the district jail. Police are searching for another minor seen in the video and are also gathering details of those who shared the video. “We are trying to identify and arrest those who have shared the video,” the DSP said. “Including these videos is also a criminal offense.”

The girl’s family and the boys who sexually abused her live in Rewari village and know each other.

The school building is the equivalent of the ground they play. The building was empty because physical classes were suspended due to an epidemic.

police said: None of the children spoke of sexual assault. The girl did not share her shock with her family and the boy spent his days as usual, even encouraging to share the video. On Tuesday (June 8), the video landed on a neighbour’s phone. He informed the girl’s father. Police said they took the child for a medical examination, which confirmed that he had been sexually abused. The DSP said: that three of the seven accused were members of the extended family of the minor girl.
