Cases of mob lynching with Muslims are becoming common in the India. The latest case is from Haryana’s Palwal where 22-year-old Rahul Khan was brutally murdered by his friends Kalua and Akash, Maktoob Media reported.
Rahul had left the house with his friends, and till date he didn’t return home. Kalua and Akash came to Khan’s house in Rasulpur on Monday and demanded a feast from Khan, which he refused.
“They still took Khan with them,” said, the deceaseds’ brother-in-law Akram, adding “Little did he know that it would cost him his life.”
On 14 December, Rahul Khan’s relative got a call from Kalua that Khan had met with an accident.
“I went to Kalua’s house after the phone call. To my surprise, I was abused. His friends told me ‘Mulla, tu ba agaya, tujhe bhi marde.’ This frightened me and I ran away,” Akram told Maktoob.
Khan’s family members took him to the hospital where he died about 6 hours after he was admitted.
Believing Kalua, Rahul’s family lodged an FIR at the nearest police station, stating that he was killed in an accident. On the morning of December 15, however, they found a viral video showing Rahul Khan lying in a pool of blood and brutally beaten.
Akram told the media that, “In the video, the attackers can be heard saying ‘Hum Hindu Hain Hindu, Tu Mulla Hai Mulla’.”
“His body was in a deplorable condition, it seems that he was beaten up with an ax and a rod,” he added.
A social media user Sunil Chahal uploaded Khan’s photo on Facebook with a song in the background in which his blue-black wounds were clearly visible. Akram claims, “Later, he deleted the story.”
An FIR was registered at Chandhat police station under section of IPC 209 and 304A.
The police in-charge told Maktoob that the matter is being investigated and till now one person has been arrested and the video is also being probed.
The post-mortem report showed several injury marks on the body. It also describes multiple injuries on Rahul Khan’s head, legs and eyes.
