Breaking News Earthquake in Jammu and Kashmir

New Delhi: A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck East Kashmir around 1:30 pm on Tuesday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said.

According to preliminary reports, the earthquake struck at a depth of 30 km at a distance of 18 km from Gandoh Bhalessa village in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Strong tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir. Tremors were felt in other parts of North India, including the national capital Delhi and its adjoining areas.

School children were scared because of the earthquake. People in the shops rushed out as the tremors were terrible. The tremors were more intense than last week’s tremors, a local told the media.
