A contractor who wrote to PM Modi against Eshwarappa for corruption found dead in Udupi

In a shocking incident, contractor and BJP worker, Santosh Patil, who had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister K S Eshwarappa of corruption had allegedly died by suicide in Udupi on Tuesday.

A few weeks ago, Patil became an overnight sensation after h had alleged that Eshwarappa demanded 40 percent commission in sanctioned public works. He reportedly ended his life at Shambhavi Lodging in the district.

Before he went missing on Monday, the BJP worker posted his death notes messages on social media and it went viral.

Hailing from Belagavi, Patil blamed Eshwarappa for his death and wrote that he had decided to set aside his dreams and end his life. At the end of the note, Santosh requested former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Chief Minister Bommai and Prime Minister Modi to help his wife and children.

Udupi police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating his death.

Meanwhile, congress leaders Siddaramaiah and KPCC president DK Shivakumar has demanded the resignation of Eshwarappa. But CM Bommai said there will be an impartial independent inquiry. “There is no question of any resignation.”
