A Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) worker, Syed Bhasha, was accused of sharing a WhatsApp status depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President of Palestine. A complaint was subsequently lodged against him at the Badami police station.
Bhasha alleges that he was summoned for questioning and was physically assaulted by Badami PSI Vithal Nayak and other police officers. Following this incident, SDPI leaders took to social media to condemn the alleged brutality and demand an investigation.
However, the District Superintendent of Police, Amarnath Reddy, denied these allegations, stating that the police did not assault Bhasha.
He claimed that Bhasha had recently been released from jail and was now spreading false information and sharing misleading photos on social media.
