A civil court in Bengaluru ordered Twitter to temporarily block the accounts of the Indian National Congress and Bharat Jodo on Monday after MRT Music filed a lawsuit against the organisation accusing it of violating its copyright by “illegally” using KGF chapter-2’s music in videos that it uploaded on the microblogging service.
Three tweets issued from the primary account of the Congress party, @INCIndia, were ordered by the court to be removed and taken down by Twitter. Additionally, it instructed the microblogging platform to “ban” the social media accounts @INCIndia and @BharatJodo until the next hearing date.
Lathakumari M., an additional city civil judge, issued the ex-parte ruling on the plaintiff’s lawsuit against the Indian National Congress, Supriya Shrinate, Rahul Gandhi, Twitter Inc., and Ashok Kumar.
