JD(S) State President C.M. Ibrahim expressed displeasure about the pre-election alliance with the BJP to face the Congress party in the wake of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking about this in a press conference on Saturday, he said, “He left me while going to Delhi. This hurts me. It is wrong for him to go close to BJP. He himself had to come to Devegowda’s house. “The situation has come where the party workers have to bow their heads,” he said.
“I am the party president, you went to Delhi, you did not say a word to me… I have not received information about what was discussed till now. Where is the alliance? I am the party president, where is the discussion in the party?” he questioned Kumaraswamy.
“The original votes of Janata Dal have gone to Congress this time. Don’t accept it or accept it. After discussion in the party, I have to sign as the state president. “The core committee has not started the tour, they have already gone and visited,” he expressed his displeasure with Kumaraswamy.
“After the October 16 meeting, I will talk to party chief HD Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy. Many, including Sharad Pawar, and Congress leaders from Delhi spoke to me. Nothing has been discussed with Siddaramaiah. I will make a firm decision after October 16,” he clarified.
“Position is not important for me, dignity is important. I have no taint in 60 years of politics. Devegowda had said that there was no need for an alliance. Devegowda did not go and talk about the alliance, Kumaraswamy did not inform me when he went. Janata Dal is neither a Hindu party nor a Muslim party. Janata Dal is a party of Kannada” CM Ibrahim said.
