Muslim girl wearing hijabs is not allowed inside the college gates. They are asked to remove their headscarf if they want to attend classes.

About 40 girls students wearing hijab were not allowed inside the gates of the Bhandarkar’s Arts and Science Degree College in Kundapur in Udupi district of Karnataka. The college authorities wanted them to come inside the college only if they took off their headscarves.

On Friday, nearly 40 Muslim boys also sat outside the college and protested in solidarity with the girls. The students protested and demanded to know why the administration had banned the hijab when in their rule book it was clearly written that headscarf was allowed.
