Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed strong discontent with the central budget, accusing it of neglecting the state’s interests. In a tweet, he stated, “5 MPs of the state are Ministers at the Center but have completely failed to protect the interest of the country. The Kannadigas, who had high expectations, have been disillusioned by the central budget this time.”
Siddaramaiah’s remarks come in the wake of significant grants being allocated to Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, while the rest of the states, including Karnataka, received minimal funding. The Chief Minister highlighted the disappointment felt by Kannadigas, who expected better representation and allocation from their MPs at the Center.
The budget’s perceived inequity has raised concerns about the effectiveness of Karnataka’s ministers in advocating for the state’s needs and priorities at the national level.
