Congress exceeds BJP in Karnataka ULB elections

Congress has outpaced the Bhartiya Janata Party in Karnataka Urban Local Body and Municipal Council/corporation seat election results on Thursday, which was held on December 27.

Although there was a tough fight between the BJP and Congress, the JDS has slipped to a distant third spot winning/leading on only a few seats.

On December 27, voting for 58 urban local bodies in Karnataka was held apart from the bypolls for 9 wards of various urban bodies and 57-gram panchayats. Due to the various issues, including the Covid-19 pandemic, the elections were delayed by almost 3 years.

Out of 1187 Urban Local Body seats, Congress acquires 498, BJP 437, JDS 45, and Others 204.

ULB Election Result Karnataka

BJP wins 67 out of 166 City Corporation seats, Congress 61, JDS 12 and Others 26.

Congress beats BJP in municipal council seats, bagging 201 wards of total, while BJP gets 176, JDS 21 and others 43.

Again Congress exceeds in P. Panchayat by winning 236 of 577 seats. BJP comes second with 194, JDS 12 and Others 135.
