Covid: We will issue separate guidelines for school children- Minister Madhu Bangarappa

School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa said that in the wake of the Corona Omicron mutation strain JN.1 scare, we will issue separate guidelines for school children on the advice of the Health Department.

Talking to the media representatives in Bengaluru on Thursday, he said, “There has been a discussion with CM Siddaramaiah about Covid. So they are deciding about all the mask testing. We follow the guidelines of the Department of Health. We are deciding what action to take,” he said.

Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa, who spoke about the revision of the school curriculum, said, “The school bag is becoming a burden. Considering this, we will reduce the burden of school bags. From next year, the burden of school bags will be reduced as much as possible,” he said.

Tipu responded on the matter of text reduction, “What the experts give, we give the same. Do not attempt to distort the text. There is a meeting with the DCM tomorrow about bringing BBMP schools under the purview of the Education Department. We will discuss and take a decision,” he said.

It is good if children wear masks: Siddaramaiah
CM Siddaramaiah speaking at Home Office Krishna on the issue of making masks mandatory for school children said, “Cabinet sub-committee will be formed and a decision will be taken there. It is good if the children wear masks,” he said.
