Ganesh Chaturthi: Meat sale banned under BBMP

In the background of Ganesh Chaturthi festival, BBMP Joint Director (Animal Husbandry) has issued an order prohibiting animal slaughter and sale of meat in slaughterhouses under Bangalore Municipal Corporation.

BBMP Joint Director (Animal Husbandry) has issued an order in this regard on September 15 and has also referred to the circular of Hon’ble Chief Commissioner of Bangalore Corporation.

In the order, it is said that slaughtering of animals in slaughterhouses and sale of meat in shops is prohibited on 18-09-2023 in the background of Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

Apart from this, BBMP Commissioner Tushar Girinath has already held a meeting with the officials of the departments regarding the precautionary measures on behalf of the Ganesh Chaturthi background committee.

In order to facilitate the public, a committee consisting of BBMP, Police, BESCOM and Fire officials has been formed in 63 sub-divisional offices.

Arrangements are being made for the immersion of Ganesha idols in Sanki Lake, Yediyur Lake, Halasuru Lake, Hebbal Lake and other important lakes in Kalyani.
