Hijab Row: APCR writes to Director General of Police against Kannada News Channel

Amid protests across the nation against the Hijab row, schools are open now. Students and parents are protesting against the Hijab Ban, many school authorities are seen sending back Hijab clad girls.

A video clip of a man chasing a minor girl at a government high school ground near Shimoga’s science ground has been aired by private media. There was widespread outrage by the public about this scene.

A complaint has been lodged on the part of the Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) to the state police chief to take appropriate action regarding the incident.

The complaint says that a juvenile girl was chased and harassed. Her video was filmed forcibly against the girl’s wishes. The girl was terrified and the police department should file a self-infringement complaint against the youth.

Court proceedings on Hijab Row are going on and the hearing is to continue today 2.30 PM. Advocate Devdutt Kamat, petitioners’ counsel on behalf of the Association for Protection of Civil Rights has completed his arguments.
