Bajrang Dal member assaulted a youth for distributing leaflets about Christianity near a college campus in Hassan district, Karnataka.
In a video that has surfaced on social media, the right wing outfit members can be seen thrashing the youth, Manu.
After assaulting him, they handed Manu over to the police. Manu has been arrested and an FIR under section 295A has been registered against him.
This is not the first incident against the Christians, the Hindutva groups have been reportedly attacking the community and targetting their places of worship in Karnataka.
After the BJP reign came into the state, there have several number of attacks against the minorities including, Christians and Muslims. Several people have also blamed the anti-conversion bill for the rise of attacks on the Christians.
According to a fact-finding report by United Christian Forum, the Association for Protection of Civil Rights, and the United Against Hate, which was released in December 2021, the highest number of attacks on the Christian community has took place in Karnataka.
