Karnataka Hijab Row: Addresses, Phone Numbers of Protesting Girls, Leaked

One of the petitioners in the hijab row said that she has been getting abusive phone calls through the day on Wednesday, the Quint reported.

17-year-old Aliya Assadi from government Pre-University College in Udupi, got to know that her personal details – including phone numbers, parents’ names, and home address were shared on Whatsapp groups in the district, according to reports.

Assadi has always been at the forefront of the protests to continue wearing the hijab to college.

The admission forms of all the six girls were leaked from the junior college and they have accessed the online message which identified the students by their names and photographs The Quint reported.

Indicating that the leak came from within the college, there was a message, a pdf document and scanned copies of admission forms from the college’s ledger.

Udupi’s BJP MLA Raghupathi Bhat, is the chairman of the College’s Development Committee (CDC). The girls told web portal that they had submitted the admission documents only to the college.
