Amid the ongoing hijab row in Karnataka, II PU practical exams are scheduled to start from Thursday, as per the timetable announced by the department of PU education.
However, many educational districts aren’t starting practicals on Thursday as these exam dates are flexible and can be decided by the respective deputy directors of pre-university (DDPUs). They have time till March 25 to complete the practical exams, Times of India reported.
Practical exams will begin in Dakshina Kannada, Mysuru and Mandya educational districts on Thursday, while Udupi will have the exams in phases starting from Friday. However, there is no clarity on whether the exams will begin in the other districts on Thursday.
The dates for the II PU practical exams change with districts. For instance, science practicals in North Bangalore district will commence on February 21 as the number of students is huge and extra arrangements are being made. Meanwhile, dates for South Bangalore will be announced soon as the preparations are going on, as per the daily.
From next week, exams in most colleges in the Kolar district will start. Individual PU colleges have been given the power to fix their own exam dates, said Kolar DDPU Ramachandrappa.
