Karnataka Police Takes Swift Action, Registers FIR Against Fake News Peddler Mahesh Vikram Hegde

Bangalore:Karnataka police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Mahesh Vikram Hegde, co-founder of the controversial PostCard News portal, known for its history of spreading hatred and false information to advance a political agenda.

Mahesh Vikram Hegde, a prominent figure in the world of online news, found himself on the wrong side of the law when he was accused of verbally abusing a young woman. The incident raised concerns and garnered public attention, prompting swift action from the Karnataka police.

Hegde’s PostCard News portal has faced widespread criticism for its alleged role in disseminating fake news and promoting the agenda of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The portal has previously been accused of spreading divisive content and misinformation to manipulate public sentiment.

The victim, a young girl, reported the incident to the police, providing crucial evidence to support her claims. Law enforcement authorities acted swiftly, taking cognizance of the matter and promptly registering an FIR against Mahesh Vikram Hegde.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, stated, “We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, especially in cases of harassment or abuse. No one is above the law, and we will thoroughly investigate this matter to ensure justice is served.”

The FIR includes charges related to verbal abuse and harassment, and Hegde will be required to cooperate with the ongoing investigation. If found guilty, he could face legal consequences.
