Udupi: Another fraud case filed against Chaitra

Another fraud case has been registered in Kota Police Station against Chaitra Kundapur, who is currently in CCB custody in connection with a fraud case.

A BJP worker named Sudina filed a case of fraud of 5 lakhs against Chaitra Kundapur in Kota Police Station, Udupi.

It is alleged that Chaitra Kundapur got five lakh rupees and cheated Sudeen, a resident of Brahmavar, who is a fisherman by profession, to set up a clothing shop.

Sudeen was introduced to Chaitra Kundapur in 2015. Chaitra said that she is in close contact with BJP ministers and MLAs. Chaitra received Rs 5 lakh in phases from Sudeen during 2018-2023. Out of this three lakhs was transferred to Chaitra’s account by Sudeen. Later, Sudeen gave two lakhs in cash.

After giving the money, Chaitra asked about the clothes shop and demanded more money. Chaitra believes that she has discussed with the local leaders about the delay in the construction of the shop and that it is in the final stage. Moreover, it has been alleged that Chaitra used to escape from Sudeen on the pretext of election campaign, speech, meeting of party leaders.

An FIR has been registered against Chaitra under section 506, 417, 420 IPC at Kota Police Station as per Sudeen’s complaint.
