A sizable demonstration and public conference marked the conclusion of the Welfare Party of India Kerala unit’s state conference on Thursday in Malappuram.
Over a lakh people attended the protest, as party workers chanted anti-Hindutva slogans.
The chief of WPI Mr. SQR Ilyas said, “The party’s policy is to oppose fascism.”
Raihanath Kappan, wife of jailed journalist Siddique Kappan also joined the huge gathering and thanked the people for their support in the fight to justice.
Thol. Thirumavalavan MP, the founder of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, asked the WPI cadres to join forces in the battle against Hindutva fascism. He stressed the significance of a Muslim, Dalit, Adivasi, and OBC political front.
