Kamal Nath resigns as Madhya Pradesh Congress President

Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath has resigned from the post of Madhya Pradesh party president after the Congress lost to the BJP in the recently held assembly elections.

The Congress High Command will soon decide the election of the new President.

The development came after Kamal Nath met Congress party chief Mallikarjuna Kharge and other senior leaders in Delhi on Tuesday.

According to news agency ANI, the meeting directed Kamal Nath to appoint a new state president.

Further, the Congress leadership is said to be upset over Kamal Nath’s remarks regarding seat allocation against several opposition leaders, including Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and JDU chief Nitish Kumar.
