Thane: In a tragic incident, four patients getting treated at Prime Criticare Hospital in Thane district died after the fire broke out in the hospital on early hours of Wednesday.
According to the sources, the fire broke out around 3: 00 am at the first floor of the hospital.
While four persons lost their lives, some 20 patients, including 6 ICU patients were rescued from the fire.
Meanwhile, the victims have been identified as Yasmeen Zafar Sayyed (46), Nawab Majid Shaikh (47), Halima Ni Salmani (70) and Harish Sonawane (57).
The sources that the four patients lost their live while they are being shifted to other hospital for treatment.
While no specific reason mentioned so far for their death, however prima faicai, it is believed that they might have died after inhaling excess smoke that choked their lungs.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra government announced compensation of Rs. 5 lakh to the family of the deceased and Rs. 1 lakh to the injured.
The government has reportedly decided to set up a committee to look into the matter.
