Mumbai: Kaushik Khona, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GoFirst Airlines has resigned. Khona was appointed CEO of GoFirst in August 2020.
Khona said in an e-mail to the airline’s employees that November 30 will be his last day with the company.
‘It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you that today is my last day with the company. In August 2020, I got an opportunity to work at Go First again (previously they worked from 2008 to 2011). I have tried to perform to the best of my abilities with your able and active support’, Kaushik Khona said in an e-mail.
A company in financial distress:
In the Indian aviation sector, after Jet Airways suspended its operations in 2019, another company that is facing financial difficulties is Go First.
In the winter of 2021, the Go First company had a 10 percent share in the Indian market. It will fall to 7% by October 2022.
