Vistara Dispatches Replacement Aircraft After Bomb Threat Diverts Flight to Turkey

Mumbai (PTI): Vistara announced on Saturday that it has dispatched an alternative aircraft and fresh crew to Erzurum Airport, Turkey, to transport passengers of its Mumbai-Frankfurt flight after the plane was diverted on Friday due to an alleged bomb threat.

The substitute aircraft is expected to reach the Turkish airport by 12:25 PM (local time) and depart for Frankfurt by 2:30 PM. Flight UK 27, a Dreamliner 787-9, departed from Mumbai on Friday at 1:01 PM after a brief delay and was scheduled to land in Frankfurt at 5:30 PM (local time).

However, the flight was rerouted to Erzurum Airport after the crew discovered a note claiming there was a bomb onboard. The plane, carrying 247 passengers and crew, landed safely in Turkey at 7:05 PM, according to the airline.

Vistara assured that all security checks were completed, and the passengers, crew, and aircraft were cleared by authorities. In the meantime, refreshments and meals were provided to passengers to minimize inconvenience.
