New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the state government for the mass death in the government hospital in Nanded, Maharashtra. In the eyes of BJP, Rahul Gandhi said that the lives of the poor are not worth anything. Rahul also pointed out that the BJP government is spending thousands of crores of rupees on publicity.

“The news that 24 people including 12 newborn babies have died due to shortage of medicines in a government hospital in Nanded, Maharashtra is very sad. Deepest condolences to all bereaved families.

“The BJP government spends thousands of crores of rupees on its publicity, but doesn’t have money for medicine for children? In the eyes of BJP, the lives of the poor are not worth it,” Rahul Gandhi pointed out.

AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi demanded strict action against the culprits in the massacre.

Yesterday, 24 people, including 12 newborn babies, lost their lives in a government hospital in Nanded, Maharashtra, within 24 hours. The tragic incident took place at Dr. Shankarao Chavan Government Medical College Hospital.

The 12 dead include six boys and six girls. The adults who died were five males and seven females. The patients died due to heart disease, poisoning, stomach disease, kidney disease, childbirth, accidental injury etc. The explanation of the hospital authorities is that the lack of sufficient medicine led to the incident.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde responded that the incident at the hospital was unfortunate. He said that what happened in the hospital will be investigated in detail and action will be taken.
