Poll strategist Prashant Kishor meets Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Delhi

Poll strategist Prashant Kishor on Tuesday met former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi at his residence in Delhi. Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and KC Venugopal were also present during the meeting.

Media reports suggest that the talks revolve around the party’s turmoil in Punjab ahead of the approaching assembly polls. Kishor is serving as an advisor to the state’s chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

Punjab and Uttar Pradesh will be holding Assembly polls next year, and Priyanka Gandhi is expected to play a leading role in the Congress’ campaign.

On June 21, Sharad Pawar and Prashant Kishor had met in Delhi for the second time in almost two weeks amid buzz about a national front of opposition parties against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Centre ahead of the general polls scheduled to be held in 2024.

Before that Prashant Kishor and Sharad Pawar met in Mumbai on June 11 for nearly three hours.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had last met with Kishor in 2017 for Congress’s campaign in the UP elections.

These meetings have fuelled opinions about the possibility of opposition parties coming together to form a third front against the ruling BJP.
