Telangana: Modi refers to Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar, KTR reacts

At a significant BJP gathering on Sunday in the capital of Telangana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to Hyderabad as “Bhagyanagar,” creating a stir, reported Hindustan Times. While the prime minister was in Hyderabad, the party’s national executive met for two days and engaged in some contentious discussions. The two-day gathering was attended by senior BJP figures and the chief ministers of states which the party governs, which got underway on Saturday in Hyderabad.

BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad was quoted by ANI as stating, “PM Modi mentioned that Hyderabad is Bhagyanagar, which is significant for us. Sardar Patel kept the basis of a unified India, and it is now the BJP’s obligation to push it forward.

The remarks were made in the midst of other BJP officials discussing Hyderabad.
“The name “Bhagyanagar” has been used to refer to Maa Bhagyalaxmi’s homeland since antiquity.
Bhagyanagar’s future is set to change for the better.
Telangana is requesting BJP, “Dinesh Sharma, a BJP leader, said on Sunday.

Telangana IT minister KT Rama Rao responding sharply to the remarks in a tweet said:

“Why don’t you change Ahmedabad’s name to Adanibad first? Who is this Jhumla Jeevi by the way?”

The TRS party launched both offline and online attacks on the BJP, using pink rallies to offset the sea of orange and videos and songs with satirical lyrics posted on various social media platforms.
Men in costumes from the hit television show Money Heist suddenly appeared all over the city, carrying signs with the hashtag #byebyemodi.

Earlier, the state’s chief minister, K. Chandrashekar Rao, had threatened to overthrow the BJP’s control of Delhi if they attempted to overthrow the TRS administration in Telangana.
