Today morning when everyone were busy with their work suddenly they were shocked by a horrible earthquake, which came with a sudden shake. Everyone were amazed by the earthquake of frequency 6.7 measured in Richter scale for 30 second rocked Assam at 7:52 AM on Wednesday.
But it was not enough the earthquake came again two times, which was measured 4.4 in 8:02 PM and 4.1 in 8:05 PM richter scale. It makes a great terror among the people because it came 3 times with in a time interval of 13 minutes.
As per the inputs from the National Center of Seismology, the epicenter of the quake was Sonitpur, Dhekiajuli in the state at the depth of 17km.
“Big earthquake hit Assam today. I pray for the well-being of all and urge everyone to stay alert. Taking updates from all districts,” said chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
Tremors also felt in North Bengal at cooch Behar, Malda, Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, Murshidabad and Alipurduar.
The earthquake also affected Bangladesh, Myanmar, Bhutan and China other than our country.
According to some reports the earthquake was very damageable, that caused damage in many places.
