8 dead in violence during farmers protesting Uttar Pradesh Lakhimpur-Kheri

2 SUV’s ran over protesters who were protesting against anti-farm law in a scheduled visit of UP deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya at Tikonia-Banbirpur road, Lakhimpur Kheri

Angry protesters allegedly stopped the vehicles and burned them. They also attacked the passengers. According to sources Six people were killed in the violence, 4 of the dead were passengers and remaining 4 were protesting farmers.

Farmers were protesting against the Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya’s visit. Pertaining to the incident Deputy CM Maurya cancelled the visit.

Several Journalists were also allegedly attacked by the protesters.

Internet service has been suspended in the area
