FIR registered against Union Minister Ajay Mishra, his son in Lakhimpur Kheri violence

Uttar Pradesh Police have registered an FIR against BJP Union Minister Ajay Mishra and his son Ashish in connection with the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri district during which about eight farmers were killed on Sunday.

Several farmer union leaders, including BKU’s Rakesh Tikait and Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, had demanded that an FIR be registered against Minister of state for Home Mishra and his son for their alleged involvement in the violence that hit the district.

Provoked by certain comments made by Ajay Mishra in purported videos that have surfaced on social media, Rakesh Tikait demanded his arrest and said that the atmosphere in the region was being infected over the last 10 days.

However, the BJP Union Minister has refused all the allegations saying that his son was not present at the site at the time of the incident. He also said he had a video evidence to back his claim.

Hundreds of farmers are going to staging a protest on Monday at the district collectorate and in every district across the country against the violent clash in UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri district where at least eight people were killed.

Supposedly eight people have died in the violence, however officially only four deaths have been confirmed till now.
