Veteran Dalit leader, BJP MP, Srinivas Prasad says wishes to take retirement from electoral politics

Mysuru: Veteran Dalit leader and MP, V. Srinivas Prasad has declared that he will take retirement from electoral politics.

Announcing this on his birthday on Friday, the BJP MP said that he is happy to make this announcement that he will be taking political retirement.

He claimed that though he wanted to retire from electoral politics a few years ago itself, however because of pressure from his supporters and fans, he decided to continue in politics.

He however said that now he has taken a final decision to end his political career and wished to take retirement.

Prasad who has a vast political experience, has been active in politics for over fifty years. He said that he plans to write the book also on his political life.

A noted Dalit leader, Prasad has served as MLA from Nanjangud. He has also worked as MP from Chamrajnagar.

Prasad has joined several parties, JD(U),  Congress and BJP.

Though he was considered to be a close friend of Former Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, the rift emerged between both leaders later.

After which, he joined the BJP and contested bipolls from Nanjangud, but lost to the Congress.
