Kolkata: West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose has accused the state government of failing in its duties and being out of touch with public sentiment.
In a sharp statement on Thursday, Bose announced his decision to “socially boycott” Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, whom he referred to as the “Lady Macbeth of Bengal.” He criticized the governance under Banerjee, claiming that “many things have decayed” in the state.
Bose’s remarks come in the wake of public outrage following the alleged rape and murder of a junior doctor at Kolkata’s R.G. Kar Hospital on August 9. The Governor expressed solidarity with the protesters and reaffirmed his commitment to justice in the case.
