Hangzhou: Opening batsman Yassav Jaiswal’s century helped India beat Nepal in the T20 cricket quarterfinal match of the Asian Games.
In the match held in Hangzhou. India won the toss and batted first, scoring 202 runs for 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Chasing this target, Nepal put up a good fight but failed to win. Good partnerships were not formed, they were destroyed.
Nepal’s batsmen, who set several world records, were controlled by India’s bowlers in the qualifying group match against Mongolia.
Kushal Bhurtel (28), Kushal Malla (29), Dipendra Singh Airey (32), and Sandeep Zora (29) put up little resistance. However, there was no good cooperation from the rest. Thus lost by 23 runs.
For India, Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan took three wickets, while Arshadeep Singh took two wickets. Another wicket went to Sai Kishore.
With this victory, the Indian team entered the semi-finals.
