England Test Cricket Team Captain decided to withdraw his name from IPL 2024 in order to manage his workload and fitness. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had bought the English All Rounder for a whopping 16.25 crore rupees price tag in last years’ IPL auction.
On November 23, his franchise CSK has confirmed the news that, Stokes had made himself unavailable for the IPL of next year. Stokes decided to retire from One Day Cricket earlier but he decided to make a comeback to that format for World Cup 2023. He also will have to undergo a knee surgery. He also had shown keen interest to make himself available for the 2024 test series against India which would be played on the end of January in India.
CSK management had shown their support to the decision of the 32 years old English All- Rounder. The official CSK statement says, “The Chennai Super Kings management is supportive of Ben in his decision to manage his workload with England playing a 5-Test series in India before the IPL and then the T20 World Cup in June 2024,”
