Hard luck for New Zealand vs Australia wins by 5 runs

Cricket is a game which gives nerve chilling moments to every cricket fan and if someone has missed today’s match than he for sure is going to regret this for a couple of weeks. The unforgettable match was between Australia and New Zealand where the Aussies took over the Kiwis by a margin of just 5 runs. Well, this is not the first time that the kiwis have had a hard luck in winning the games and too by a close margin.

As New Zealand won the toss and decided to field, Australia was already ready with its batting line-up. The game saw some stellar performances by Travis Head (109 off 67 balls), David Warner (81 off 65 balls), Glen Maxwell (41 off 24 balls). Just as when the audience thought that Australia would cross the 400 mark, its partnership was broken by Glenn Phillips. But the Aussies maintained their calm and at the concluding overs, it was at Cummins who single handedly took the team to 388 runs and created a huge target for the Kiwis. The New Zealand bowlers also tried to give their best but it was also the HPCA which was short in length due to which most balls were converting into fours and sixes. Maximum wickets were taken by Trent Boult and Glenn Phillips (3 each).

In reply, the Kiwis also gave their maximum efforts and some marvelous performances was witnessed by Rachin Ravindra and James Neesham. Ravindra made a century (116 off 89 balls) but it was his bad luck as his wicket was taken by Marnus Labuschagne. He contributed to the maximum runs while it was James Neesham who pulled off the match with some big shots (58 off 39 balls) before being run-out by Marnus Labuschagne. Neesham was the one who continued to provide hopes to his team members and the fans out there in the HPCA stadium. The player of the match was awarded to Travis Head for his century. It was indeed an interesting match where each over provided a nail-biting moment to the spectators and the entire match seemed to be like a weighing machine.
