Rahul Dravid motivates Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as they return for the first time after World Cup heartbreak

It has been a month since India lost its ICC World Cup, 2023, against Australia and now the Indian coach who has accepted his extension offer to coach the squad has started coming into action by insisting that players have moved on from the painful loss in Ahmedabad.

Two of India’s batting stars in the World Cup final squad – captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who had been on a long break from international action after their defeat are all set to make their return in the Test series against South Africa.
Although, the world cup squad’s team members like KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, Shreyas Iyer and Ravindra Jadeja had appeared in a few white-ball games, but the rest which includes Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin will therefore make a return in their team for the first time in five weeks. Dravid also detailed that how the ICC World Cup India captain Rohit Sharma’s men coped with the loss of the World Cup final.

“It was heartbreaking but you have to move on quickly in international cricket as we now have another important series coming up and all these series count towards trying to qualify for another ICC event in 2025 (WTC final),” Dravid said on Sunday.
“You don’t really have time to remain down. You have to pick yourself up and move one and the boys have done that really well,” he said, adding that spirit in camp “has been superb”.

Looking on the optimistic side, Dravid added: “While there was disappointment but we have all moved on from it, we have to see what’s in-front of us. I thought ODI team did really well to win that series in which lot of main South African batters played.”
