Saika Ishaque to Debut; Smriti Mandhana ruled out against Australia in First ODI

Indian left arm spinner Saika Ishaque made her debut against Australia Women’s Cricket team in the first ODI in the three match ODI series to be played at Wankhade inMumbai on Thursday. Opening batter Smriti Mandhana was ruled out of the first ODI as she was unwell and unavailable for selection.

Saika, 28 years old left arm spinner from Kolkata had already made her T20I debut against England Women’s team earlier this month. In this ODI match against Australia Women, India Women would open with Yastika Bhatia and Shafali Verma in the absence of their regular opener Smriti Mandhana.

On the other hand, for Australia Women, Darcie Brown would make a comeback after her injury which sustained while playing against West Indies in October.

Previously, in this Australia Women’s tour in India both teams played a test match and India Women’s team won the match by 8 wickets.
