India’s squad for the ODI World Cup to be held from October 5 has been finalized and 37-year-old veteran spinner R Ashwin has been named in the 15-man squad. Akshar Patel, who had already secured a seat, has lost his seat.
Ashwin was selected to the team because of his good performance in the ODI series. Ashwin was dropped when Team India selected their 15-man squad for the ODI World Cup series earlier this month.
Many senior players and fans were outraged about this. Teams were allowed until September 28 to make changes to their provisional squads. The ODI World Cup will begin on October 5 in India.
