London: Indian tennis pair, Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna have stored into second round of mixed doubles at the Wimbledon 2021 by winning over the Indian players.
Mirza and Bopanna who played against Ankita Raina and Ramkumar Ramanathan, won by 6-2, 7(7)-6(5) in the tough and crucial match.
Interestingly, it is for the first time that two Indian tennis players played against the Indian players in the international championship.
After the victory, the pair will now be taking on top-seeded French pair, Nicolas Mahut and Kristina Mladenovic in the second round.
In another women’s doubles match, Sania has cleared her entry into second round, however Bopanna failed to qualify for second round in men’s doubles.
