US Open: Djokovic wins men’s singles title

New York: Novak Djokovic has won the men’s singles final of the Open tennis tournament.

Djokovic defeated Daniel Medvedev 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-3 in a highly competitive match to win the title.

Through this, he has won the 4th US Open and 24th Grand Slam title.

Serbia’s Djokovic became the first player to win 24 Grand Slam titles since professional tennis began in 1968 by winning a major singles title over Serena Williams. Margaret Court also won 24 titles, 13 before she started professional tennis.

Medvedev, who defeated Djokovic in straight sets in the 2021 final, missed out on the feat of winning all four Grand Slams in a single year since Rod Laver in 1969.
