New Delhi: India has strongly condemned comments made by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei regarding the treatment of Indian Muslims. Khamenei, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed, had linked the situation of Indian Muslims with the plight of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and Palestinians in Gaza, citing their collective sufferings.

India responded, calling the remarks “unacceptable” and emphasized that the situation of Indian Muslims should not be compared to international issues. The Indian government reiterated its commitment to the country’s secular values.
